Zoom Features

Note: Your options may look slightly different depending on your device (eg computer, iphone or ipad) and depending on whether you are the host or not.

  • Unmute: Turn on and off your sound. Good to do if their is background noise at your home, and then just unmute when you speak.

  • Stop video: Show your face or not.

  • Manage participants: See a list of everyone in your “room”

  • Share Screen (or Share Content): show what’s on your device desk top or draw on a digital whiteboard etc

  • Chat: send a message to everyone or 1 individual in your “room”

  • Record: record the Zoom session

  • Breakout Rooms: Only on the host’s account. Allows the host to split everyone into sub groups (separate “rooms”), either manually (ie choose who goes where) or automatically (Zoom chooses), for separate conversations. The host can then stay out, or visit the separate rooms. The host ends the breakouts, to bring everyone back to main “room”.
